What does it mean it be a “hipster traveler”?
Great question! Although many people define “hipsterism” differently, in this blog, it refers to a set of values for goods or services. While I travel, I look for restaurants, shops or activities that match some, if not all, of these values:
- Locally-sourced
- Handmade
- Organic
- Environmentally-conscious
- Fair trade
- (For food) Can accommodate dietary restriction (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, etc.)
- Unique
Will this blog cover the BIG tourist spots?
Honestly, probably not. If you’re looking for the classic, famous locations, I would recommend you check out one of the other amazing blogs and travel guides out there. If you’re looking for a mix, I would recommend using this blog in conjunction with others, or planning a couple days in a city (for blending the typical tourist experience and the “hipster” scene).
Can I send YOU my recommendations?
Absolutely! This type of traveling relies heavily on personal recommendations. Most of what I recommend to you was brought to my attention by a local or traveler who shared my same values. To send me suggestions, visit my contact page.
What travel services do you use to make this work?
I am currently working on a “recommended services” page that will give you loads of helpful info about what we use as Digital Nomads and permanent hipster travelers.
